Northern Morocco
Discovering Northern Morocco by Ellen

Initially, I assumed Morocco was primarily a tourist destination, with most visitors heading south for the beaches or to Marrakech for a city break. However, my perspective changed entirely after experiencing Northern Morocco with Carrier.
I was lucky enough to experience 2 nights in Tamuda Bay followed by 2 nights in Casablanca staying at the Royal Mansour properties. Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely reception team at Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay and taken to a private check in area.
After checking in, we were escorted to our rooms for a quick freshen up prior to meeting the sales and marketing team to guide us through the resort’s beautiful facilities. Dinner that evening was hosted at La Table overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Day 2 began with breakfast at Coccinella where a generous spread of international and local dishes was displayed. We then visited the Tetouan Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking through its narrow streets offered an authentic glimpse of local life – whitewashed building, small workshops and bustling souks. Lunch was back at Coccinella showcasing Italian flavours that complimented our beautiful surroundings.
Our afternoon consisted of a game of padel with the hotel manager followed by a relaxing one-hour full body massage in the Medi-Spa. Dinner was in the Mediterranean restaurant, Le Mediterranee offering irresistible flavours.

After a final breakfast enjoyed in the comfort of my terrace, it was time to depart Tamuda Bay and take the train to Casablanca. The train took 2 hours 15 minutes and was a very smooth journey. Upon arrival on the platform, we were greeted with staff from Royal Mansour Casablanca eagerly awaiting our arrival. When entering Royal Mansour Casablanca, I was struck by the contrast – Tamuda Bay offered a calm, relaxation spaces, Casablanca radiated business and sophistication. The hotel is inspired by the golden age of the 1950s, it blends Art Deco design with Moroccan character.
Lunch at Le Sushi Bar provided a lovely start to our afternoon at leisure where I chose to explore the local Medina and the Art Deco area of Casablanca. Dinner was hosted at Casablanca’s French cuisine restaurant, La Brasserie.

Breakfast at Le Rooftop, 23 stories above the city, offered panoramic views and was a lovely start to a busy day. A guided tour of Casablanca followed, taking in the architectural landmarks and vibrant streets. From the incredible Hassan II Mosque to the Art Deco downtown, the tour revealed how Casablanca bridges Morocco’s history and its contemporary life. We headed back to Le Rooftop for a light lunch before a whistle stop tour of Royal Mansour Casablanca understanding the rooms and taking in their incredible views.
The afternoon was followed by a wine and champagne tasting in the intimate cellar – a must do at the Royal Mansour. Dinner was at Le Granda Table Marocaine in a private dining space, where we experienced traditional Moroccan dishes with a view of Hassan II Mosque from afar.
One final breakfast was enjoyed at Le rooftop before checking out and taking our flight back to London.
Overall, this trip has highlighted how in one country you can find some much contrast. From the tranquillity of Tamuda Bay to the vibrancy of Casablanca
