Prague
A visit to Prague is like taking a step back in time – the old medieval buildings, gothic churches, baroque domes, Renaissance palaces are all magnificently preserved. The castle area dominates the city containing the St.Vitus cathedral, the Royal Palace, museums and the Golden Lane. Wenceslas Square, focal point of the ‘velvet revolution’ is close by dominated by the national museum. Take a look at the ‘Lesser Quarter ‘, which has hardly changed since the 18th century, before strolling over Charles Bridge, lined with stalls and the statues of saints, to the old town. It is also a great city to relax in, whether in the famous bars or on Charles Bridge, or enjoying the Bohemian street entertainment. Prague has something to offer every visitor.

The main shopping areas are around Wenceslas Square and the streets surrounding Stare Mesto. You should be able to get anything you need here, and whilst imported goods are naturally more expensive, Czech goods are easier on the bank balance. For great antiques, have a potter round Celetna or Tynska - you might end up with something special! At the markets on the Old Town Square you can pick up crystal, glassware, wooden toys and porcelain.
